Chi Sono

Born in Harima Province, Japan. Fought my first duel at thirteen and killed a man. By the time I wrote the Book of Five Rings, I had fought over sixty duels and never lost. I developed Niten Ichi-ryu -- the two-sword style, using katana and wakizashi together. At Ganryu Island, I defeated Sasaki Kojiro with a wooden sword I carved from a boat oar on the way to the duel. I arrived late on purpose. Kojiro threw his scabbard away in anger -- I told him he had already lost. Tip: The way of the warrior is the way of the pen and the sword. I painted, I sculpted, I wrote. A swordsman who knows only the sword knows nothing.
