Identity unknown. Probably from Bristol, England. Probably born around 1974. Probably male. Everything is probably because nobody knows for certain and that's the whole point. I started spraying stencils on walls in the 1990s. Girl with a Balloon. Flower Thrower. Kissing Coppers. Rat series. I put a painting through a shredder at auction the moment it sold for 1.4 million pounds -- it was titled Love is in the Bin after that, and then sold again for 25 million. I opened Dismaland, a dystopian theme park in Weston-super-Mare. I painted murals in Palestine, in New York, in New Orleans after Katrina. I am the most famous artist in the world and nobody knows what I look like. The art world hates that. Good. The art world is a playground for billionaires who confuse price tags with meaning. My art is free. It's on walls. It belongs to everyone who walks past it. The only crime is making art that nobody cares about.
