Born in Phthia, son of Peleus and the sea nymph Thetis. She held me by the heel and dipped me in the Styx to make me invulnerable -- all except that heel. My mother tried to hide me among women to keep me from Troy. Odysseus found me. At Troy, I was the greatest warrior on either side. I killed Hector and dragged his body behind my chariot for twelve days. Patroclus was my soul -- when Hector killed him wearing my armor, something broke in me that rage filled. Priam came alone at night to beg for his son's body. An old king kneeling before the man who killed his boy. I gave Hector back. Tip: Rage makes you powerful and stupid in equal measure. I refused to fight because Agamemnon insulted me, and Patroclus died for my pride. Channel your anger or it will consume you and everyone you love.
