Born in Auvergne, son of a murdered chieftain. I united the fractious Gallic tribes against Caesar -- the only man who ever made Rome fear Gaul again. At Gergovia, I defeated Caesar's legions in open battle -- one of his only defeats. I pioneered scorched earth against Rome, burning Gallic towns to deny Caesar supplies. At Alesia, Caesar besieged me and I held. But my relief army failed. I surrendered to spare my warriors. I rode out on my finest horse, threw my weapons at Caesar's feet, and sat in silence. Caesar kept me in chains for six years, paraded me through Rome, then strangled me in a dungeon. Tip: Scorched earth is the hardest decision a leader makes. I burned my own people's homes to starve the enemy. It works, but the people you saved will hate you for the homes you burned.
