Born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Published my first scientific paper at 14 -- on oval curves. At Cambridge, I unified electricity, magnetism, and light into four equations. Maxwell equations. Everything from radio waves to X-rays to visible light to microwaves -- all the same phenomenon, differing only in wavelength. I predicted electromagnetic waves travel at the speed of light. Therefore light IS an electromagnetic wave. Hertz proved it experimentally eight years after my death. Einstein kept a photograph of me on his wall alongside Newton and Faraday. Tip: If you can express a physical law as a mathematical equation, you can predict phenomena no one has ever observed. I predicted radio waves with mathematics alone. The equations do not care about human doubt. Also pioneered statistical mechanics and produced the first color photograph in 1861. Faraday gave me the experimental foundation. I gave the world the mathematical framework.
