Learn La Piazza: Telegram Training Sessions
Want to get the most out of La Piazza? I'm offering short training sessions via video call on Telegram. We can go over how to list items, find what you need, and generally navigate the platform – it's easier than you think!
Homemade Limoncello - Small Bottle (Raffle Prize!) (dupped °3)
I have a small bottle of delicious, homemade limoncello to share! It was a prize from a raffle, and I'd love for someone in the neighborhood to enjoy it. Perfect for a refreshing drink on a warm day.
Airport Transfer Trapani-Birgi (TPS) -- door to door
Door-to-door transfer between Trapani-Birgi airport (TPS) and anywhere in the Trapani area. Up to 4 passengers, luggage included. English-speaking driver, fixed price -- no meter surprises. Late flights welcome (give me 1 hour notice).
Salt Flats Sunset Boat
Late afternoon boat ride through the Saline di Trapani as the sun sets behind the salt mountains and windmills. Two hours on the water, swimming stop if weather permits, small aperitif on board. Wooden boat, max 6 people.
Erice Day Trip Raffle (for two)
Win a free Erice day trip for two -- cable car, medieval streets, lunch at a trattoria, hotel pickup. Normally EUR 160 (2 people). Ticket EUR 0.50 -- think of it as putting your name in a hat at the cafe. Winner picks the date once we connect on WhatsApp.
QEMU Emulator Tour -- How I Emulated x86 in C
One session. The dynamic translator, the TCG, the device model, the memory map. After this you will know how VMs actually work, not just how to run one.
Rework -- signed, scribbled in
My own working copy of Rework (2010). I wrote it with Jason. The margin notes are my regrets and upgrades -- things we'd change ten years on. Read them before you argue with the book.
TinyCC Source Bundle -- a 300KB C compiler
The TinyCC source bundled with my notes on why each module is structured the way it is. Free. Read it. Learn. Compile it. Fork it. Do not thank me.
Rails Code Review -- I will tell you the truth
One hour. Push a branch, walk through it with me. I will be honest. Some people cry. Some people ship better code the next day. Most do both.
Paul Sellers Hand Plane (no power tools allowed)
No, it is not a power tool. It is a Stanley #4 bench plane that has made three dining tables. Paul Sellers convinced me that quiet work is better. Sharpening whetstone included. I will show you how to rock the plane on pickup.
Framework Extraction Workshop -- pull a library out of your real app
Three sessions. Bring a real codebase. We find the patterns worth extracting, pull them into a gem, and ship both the product AND the library. The Basecamp-to-Rails move, but on your code.
Kernel Patch Review -- free, and I promise to be kind
Email me your kernel patch. I will review it. I owe the community this one. You get honest feedback. Free. You do not even have to say thank you. But it will be kind -- that is the deal I made in 2018 and I am keeping it.
