Optics Demonstration -- Prisms, Spectra & Light

I will demonstrate how white light splits into a spectrum through a glass prism, and how a second prism recombines it. This experiment settled a 2,000-year debate. Light is not pure -- it is a mixture of colors. Includes hands-on experiments with reflection, refraction, and Newton rings.

Glass Prism Set (Optical Grade, 3-Piece)

Three optical-grade glass prisms: equilateral, right-angle, and porro. The equilateral prism splits white light into its spectrum. I purchased mine from a fair in Stourbridge in 1666. These are considerably better quality. Handle them by the edges -- fingerprints ruin the optical surfaces.

Bring a soil sample from your garden. I will teach you to read it: pH, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, organic matter, texture. Your soil tells you what it needs. Most people guess. I measure. Tip: If your soil is dead, nothing you plant will thrive. Feed the soil, not the plant.

Crop Rotation & Companion Planting Guide

Hands-on session in the garden. I will show you which plants fix nitrogen, which ones deplete it, and how to rotate so your soil gets richer every year. The peanut-cotton rotation saved Southern agriculture. The same principles work in any garden, any climate.
