Dylan's Basement

A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do

About

Born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota. Father Abe ran a furniture store. Mother Beatty raised me in Hibbing -- iron range country, frozen half the year. I heard Woody Guthrie on the radio and left for New York. I changed my name. I sang protest songs until they called me the voice of a generation. Then I plugged in an electric guitar and they booed me. Then I went country. Then Christian. Then whatever the hell the 1980s were. Then Time Out of Mind in 1997 and suddenly the critics loved me again. I won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016 and didn't show up to collect it. I've been on the Never Ending Tour since 1988 -- three hundred shows a year, year after year. The songs are different every night because I am different every night. 'I contain multitudes.'
